Breakdown of ConcreteRiver’s “FLV Beta Testing 3: Carrot, Sangria, Peppermint”

0:46 – New flavor FLV Carrot

Flavor Notes: Raw carrot flavor. Juicier, sweeter base with a fairly heavy peel note. Peel note is realistic, but not earthy. More astringent and a bit biter. A little throaty-ness. Peel note translates well at lower percentages.

Pairing Suggestions: Citrus (oranges, apples, pears, pineapple), FLV Persimmon (a little harsher, but if you’re okay with that, they would mix great together), Spices (cloves, cardamom, ginger), Bakery

Percentage Suggestions: Accent: .25 – 2% depending on type of recipe.

Other Things to Note: “a whole lot better than Real Flavors Super Concentrate Carrot” 😀

5:35 – New flavor FLV Sangria

Flavor Notes: Orange citrus, pear, and boozy brandy, red wine notes. Becomes more of a base flavor after a few days steep without a lot of brighter notes – more of a mulled wine with a little bit of brandy opposed to a chilled sangria. Zest note from orange steeps out quickly, leaving warm orange accents. Brandy and red wine are well-balanced. There isn’t much of a boozy bite, but the brandy definitely adds sweetness and complexity.

Pairing Suggestions: Spices, Dark Grape Fruits, Brighter Fruit Flavors

Percentage Suggestions: <2% – gets a bit gummy above that.

Other Things to Note: Steeps really quickly.

10:00 – New flavor FLV Peppermint

Flavor Notes: Moderately sweet, heavily cooled peppermint candy flavor, without going full “candy cane”. More aggressive cooling to it. Fairly smooth, so it can get icy without getting really weird. Strong, solid flavor.

Pairing Suggestions: Creams, Marshmallows, Candy recipes, very versatile flavor

Percentage Suggestions: Pretty cold at 3%, but good. Start around 0.25 – 1% to figure out preference on this one.

Other Things to Note: Seems fairly strong, but cooling-effect is very personal preference based.
